How we practice
At The Locomotive Co., our goal is not to practice perfectly or even gracefully, but to simply practice mindfully.
We offer 60 or 90 minute mediation sessions for individuals and groups.
Mindfulness is the process of purposefully bringing one’s awareness to the present moment, in a non-judgmental or overly reactive manner. While mindfulness is based in the ancient tradition of meditation, it has also come to the forefront of modern psychology as a way of increasing well-being, reducing worry and stress, and even improving brain function and mental health.
While mindfulness is an inherent human ability, it is all too easy to lose touch with this ability in a modern world that is cluttered with sensory stimulation. Our goal at The Locomotive Co. is to practice as mindfully as possible, by simply paying attention to the movement of our bodies and our breath without pressure or judgment, in the present moment.
As we give ourselves the time to reconnect with ourselves, positive change will happen.
